Huntington Harbour, Huntington Beach
Huntington Harbour is the waterfront neighborhood at the northwest corner of Huntington Beach, built in the 1960s around a series of dredged channels. Five islands (Humboldt, Gilbert, Davenport, Trinidad, and Admiralty) plus the mainland streets around them make up the community, and the defining feature is simple: many homes have a private dock in the backyard, with the harbor mouth and open ocean a short cruise away.

What it’s like
Quiet, residential, and oriented around the water. Paddleboards and small boats come and go from backyard docks, the islands are connected by short bridges, and the neighborhood has its own small beaches on the harbor for calm-water swimming. The annual holiday boat parade is the community’s signature event.
Homes and lots
Waterfront homes sit on the channels with docks that vary in size; the dock and the water frontage matter as much as the house. Non-waterfront homes on the same islands and on the mainland streets offer the location at a lower price point. Expect a wide range of condition, from original 1960s homes to complete rebuilds.
Getting around
Pacific Coast Highway runs along the harbor’s south edge with Sunset Beach and Seal Beach just beyond. Warner Avenue connects inland to the 405. Long Beach and the Los Angeles County line are minutes away, which makes the Harbour a practical choice for commutes in either direction.
Good to know
Waterfront properties come with their own checklist: dock condition and permits, seawall responsibility, flood-zone status and insurance, and any HOA or gate rules. These are worth understanding before you fall in love with a view.
